Where I was when my first child was born

My husband took a wrong turn on the way to NYU Medical Center and ended up in China town, with me crying in heavy labor, the car bonking over the cobblestone streets. I was in the lobby of the hospital when the baby crowned and mercifully, in the delivery room when she came. Phew!!!

I have a similar story

I have nine children and nineteen grandchildren. When I was in labour with my fourth child , a girl, my husband had taken me into the hospital where the others were born in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. Well, although I thought that my labour was in full force and that the baby would be here soon, I was persuaded by midwives that as I was only 1cm dilated I could go home and come back in the morning. It was just before midnight and as we were only a few minutes from the hospital we trusted the professional. So, imagine our surprise when having just walked in the door I needed to push and baby was definitely coming. Mother-in-law ushered us back into the car hoping we'd make it. Ten minutes later baby was born(I had held her in for all of that time) and she popped out as we reached the stairs. My husband delivered ( caught ) baby just as a midwife came out of the delivery suite to find out what the commotion was. That was, by far, the easiest birth i had.
